napa auto parts wants

$139.00 if you own a v6

$79.99 if you own a v8.

It looks like a easy part to change why dont you change it yourself ? Looks likevit only has two bolts and a wire. As long as there isn't anything in front of it, it would only take 15 minutes.

Only thing you have to be careful of is to make sure there isnt any air links. Make sure there isnt any old gasket on engine and It might be a good idea to be a very thin layer of rtv gasket sealant on both sides of a gasket. You can get gasket sealant at the autopart store for 4-5 bucks. It is not required but it might help.

I would check and see if there isnt anything in front of the part. If you have to take half the engine apart to install this part it might not be worth it. I would guess this wouldnt be a problem due to the type of part and common location. If you are not sure what it looks like check napaautoparts.com There is a picture of it. It should be around the middle top of your engine. After you change the part unhook your battery for 5 minutes to allow your computer to restart. This will reset any ';check engine'; lights you might have. You can buy a auto repair book at the store for around 20 bucks it will help you and tell you step by step. I dont believe you need this but it wouldnt hurt to have around anyway.
Buy a book on the truck it should have detailed information on how to install the part. Then buy the part and have your boyfriend install it for you is the cheapest way. Otherwise they will charge you out the *** to fix it at a shop . The part it`self shouldn`t be all that high.
