What do i need to fix on the EGR air control valve?

the engine still revse up highWhat do i need to fix on the EGR air control valve?
High revs on an engine would have nothing to do with the EGR valve....do you mean the Idle air control valve? I bet you do.... :)

The IAC might simply be dirty and need to be cleaned off. A good throttle/carb cleaner will do that. If cleaning it doesn't solve the high rev problem, it might need to be replaced (assuming the IAC is really the cause to start with). What do i need to fix on the EGR air control valve?
EGR valves do not make the engine rev up,you have an air leak somewhere on your intake manifold after the throttle plate. (EGR stands for exhaust gas reciculation ) if exhaust gas was going into the engine at idle the engine would idle roughly or stall.EGR valves only work above idle speeds.
The EGR valve IS vacuum controlled to open on some cars - so if the diagphram is burst it will be like a vacuum leak and may make your engine rev high. First check vacuum hoses to the EGR valve - thsi is a cheap fix - under a few dollars. The valve itself is not too sopjhisitcated but is pricey - for example on a cadillac deville its $150 - BUT it is very easy to replace. if you are sure its the valve check prices at www.rockauto.com and autozone.com - there are probably two bolts holding it down - on us cars 9/16 or 1/2 inch. You will need a crawfoot socket or an angled wrench (like a timing wrench) to get the bolts under the egr usually because your wrench or socket cant get on it - so but one for $9 and make life easy.
you can replace it

or you can try to clean it
Professionally, take it to a mechanic.
the egr is an Exhaust Gas Recircultion valve. i woul have the computer read first if it is the egr just replace it
Its a fuel economy thing
