Does the VVT(Variable Valve Timing) control the air volume in the engine?

and how the VVT works and whether it icreases or decreases the volume of the air admitted to the engineDoes the VVT(Variable Valve Timing) control the air volume in the engine?
the intake valves allow AIR into the engines combustion chamber

vvt at higher engine speeds allows the INTAKE valve to stay open longer to allow more air and helps to combust more fuel

vvt at higher speed allows the EXHAUST valve to stay open longer to allow more exhaust to exit quicker
