Have check enegine light 1443 where is the evaporative emission vapor control valve at on a 1998 cobra mustang

usually we find that on those the flow sensor that is in line with the vapor control valve gets clogged and sets the code.

You have to find the Evap canister which if I remember is in the front of this vehicle, and there will be a hose leading to the intake of the engine.. there will be a brass colored valve and a black sensor piece in the line along the way.. that is your problem.

Ford had a fix on some vehicles by having you replace the rubber line, the valve and flow sensor as an assembly with a Ford base part number of 9c987

These were a bear to diagnose 10 years ago but in the 10 years, evap has become easier but usually without a shop of tools however it's almost impossible without throwing the kitchen sink at a problem.Have check enegine light 1443 where is the evaporative emission vapor control valve at on a 1998 cobra mustang
a 1443 is a very hard code to get rid of, the evap system controls gas vapors, vapors are not vented to the atmosphere they are kept in the fuel system and burned, there are numerous things that can cause this code and it such a complicated system that joe average will not fix it, ford has test equipment that is needed to fix this - the control valve probably isnt the problem, it can be a pinhole in a vapor line, a bad gascap, see the evap system draws a vacuum on the fuel system, if it cant achive a certain vacuum it sets the 1443 code, i think u will be further ahead to take it to a dealer or ignore the lite, the test equipment needed is so high dollar equipment to buy its not worth your time, i was a ford certified tech and have fought this code many times and they are a nightmare, its a simple system but its very complicated in how it works, someone over engineered this system and its a hard code to get rid of, sorry no easy fix for this code, take it to your dealer
